Earlier today, the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers worked out a deal that essentially helped out all parties involved. Below, we have the breakdown:
Pelicans receive:
- Tyreke Evans
Kings receive:
- Greivis Vasquez
Trail Blazers receive:
- Robin Lopez
Since the beginning of the free agency period, the Pelicans had their sights set on landing Evans. They got their guy. With Jrue Holiday at the point, Vasquez became expendable and through this trade, he went to team in the Kings that was looking for a solid distributor to play alongside skilled offensive scorers, like Ben McLemore and possibly DeMarcus Cousins. Meanwhile, with grumblings of a possible departure by LaMarcus Aldridge, the Trail Blazers now have a replacement in Lopez, who could fill in nicely if they do decide to move Aldridge.
Also, the Trail Blazers will send out draft picks and cash, but how that will be doled out remains to be seen.
