Kevin Durant will be out for the next six to eight weeks with a Jones fracture. A Jones fracture occurs at the base of the pinky toe and can sometimes go unnoticed until the person begins to see swelling, experiences pain or walks with discomfort. This type of injury can either be a stress fracture, like a hairline break, or a complete break. The cause of a Jones fracture is usually the result of overuse, stress to the area or trauma. Occasionally, a Jones fracture doesn't appear on a typical x-ray and requires further tests to evaluate the extent of the injury.
