A recent study conducted by Confused.com, asked eight participants, four women and four men, to drive 500 miles each – the first half without music and the second with a variety of music playing. Measuring each driver's driving patterns by recording a set of variables including: speed, acceleration and braking, it was determined that that different types of music affected the driver's driving styles.
A female driver listening to hip-hop drove more aggressively than the others, a male driver listening to heavy metal drove faster than the others, and both a male and a female driver listening to classical music drove more erratically than with no music at all. Following is a list of what the researchers deemed "the 10 most dangerous songs to drive to":
- Hey Mama – The Black Eyed Peas
- Dead on Arrival – Fall Out Boy
- Paper Planes – M.I.A
- Walkie Talkie Man – Steriogram
- Paradise City - Guns N’ Roses
- How You Remind Me – Nickelback
- Hit the Road, Jack – Ray Charles
- Get Rhythm – Johnny Cash
- Heartless – Kanye West
- Young, Wild and Free – Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa (feat. Bruno Mars)
