adidas have just started the latest on-pitch revolution.

The German sportswear giants got the football world talking when they teased laceless boots towards the end of last year – with countless players taking blacked-out prototypes into training – and now they've firmly arrived in the shape of the ACE 16+ Purecontrol.

The much hyped release sees the laces replaced with three key design features for added stability and increased performance. A TPU cage locks over the iconic three stripes to secure the mid foot, mirroring the original intention of the stripes in Adi Dassler’s earliest footwear.

Laces have been replaced to increase stability and performance.

A knitted upper, based on innovations in adidas’ ground breaking Primeknit, combines open and loose knitted structures. The upper uses the most premium yarns available, after exhaustively testing combinations and variations in knits. The combination in the ACE 16+ Purecontrol locks the foot into the boot for an incredible fit, without laces.

Inside the boot, a techfit locking system wraps around the foot, providing lock down and lateral stability to counter changes in direction and offer perfect control. The result is a glove like fit and the closest possible control thanks to a larger surface area, giving the best possible feel for the ball.
