Are you playing against Peyton Manning in fantasy football this week? Then do yourself a favor and give your team an L right now. The Broncos quarterback went off last night, becoming the first QB since 1969 to throw for an NFL-record seven touchdowns in a game during Denver's 49-27 victory over the Ravens. He finished the game 27-for-42 with 462 yards passing and a quarterback rating of 141.1.
"It was an awesome night," Manning said after the game, stating the obvious. "Our offensive line did a heck of a job against a great pass rush, gave me good time…We knew we could get some shots. We were great down in the red zone. That and inside the 30-35, we took some shots, got some space there, and our receivers made some big plays."
You can say that again. In throwing for seven touchdowns in the game, Manning joined a class of just five other quarterbacks who have thrown for seven touchdowns in a game. That class includes Sid Luckman (1943), Adrian Burk (1954), George Blanda (1961), Y.A. Tittle (1962), and Joe Kapp (1969).
What a way to start the season for Manning. Watch all seven of his touchdown tosses in the clip below:
