About a week ago, Mark Cuban took to his CyberDust app and threw a bunch of shots at Donald Trump. He insinuated that Trump is not a real billionaire and argued that he won't be able to sustain a long Presidential run because he doesn't have enough cash to do it. It didn't seem like he was a big fan of The Donald.
This week, he's singing a much different tune. Cuban took to CyberDust again to talk about Trump today. But rather than throwing more shots at him, he actually praised him and called him "the best thing to happen to politics in a long, long time." And it wasn't a backhanded compliment, either.
"I don't care what his actual positions are," Cuban wrote. "I don't care if he says the wrong thing. He says what's on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years."
He continued by crediting Trump with changing politics and, while he stopped short of endorsing him (let's not get carried away!), his words seemed genuine.
"Up until Trump announced his candidacy, the conventional wisdom was that you had to be a professional politician in order to run," Cuban wrote. "You had to have a background that was politically scrubbed. In other words, smart people who didn't live perfect lives could never run. Smart people who didn't want their families put under the media spotlight wouldn't run. The Donald is changing all of that. He has changed the game and for that he deserves a lot of credit. Now maybe we will accept candidates warts and all and look at what they can do rather than what headlines they create. Congrats Donald."
*picks jaw up off floor* Did he really just…?
Yes, he did. And Trump thanked him for saying what he said this afternoon:
