Yankees Outfielder Chris Young Was Struck Out by a Pitching Machine

Yankees outfielder Chris Young has struck out 977 times during his professional baseball career, which started all the way back in 2002. So the fact that he went down swinging during a Yankees' intrasquad scrimmage on Monday afternoon isn't particularly newsworthy. Except that it is because Young wasn't squaring off against C.C. Sabathia. Instead, he was facing a pitching machine—yes, a pitching machine—when he struck out.

"Young took the K like a champ," an NJ.com reporter noted, "laughing about it while teammates ribbed him on his way back to the dugout."

Granted, the pitching machine is nicknamed "Iron Mike" and it does hurl 90-mph fastballs.
