Earlier this morning, Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall signed a three-year, $30 million contract extension with Chicago. And that in and of itself would have been big news. But the way that Marshall went about signing the extension is the thing that's got everyone talking right now.
Marshall—who has become an advocate for mental illnesses in recent years after suffering with one himself—made an appearance on The View today to talk about fighting the stigmas that come along with mental illnesses. And during his appearance, he decided to sign the huge contract extension that the Bears just gave him. Additionally, he pledged $1 million of his own money to help those suffering with mental illnesses:
Props to Marshall for doing this and for going about it in this way. He just made a lot of money—and helped a lot of people while doing it.
