Steve Kerr is both a great coach and an honest, engaging speaker. He can both dish it out and take it. He gives it to the league, officials, and even his own team when he thinks they deserve it. He also speaks out politically when he feels so inclined.

He’s just not afraid of saying how he feels. It's part of what makes him great.

His Warriors got a pretty easy win over the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night, winning 109-85 despite a hilarious Steph Curry missed dunk.

The Warriors should be feeling pretty good, right? They’ve won 10 straight. They got a big win over a much-improved Los Angeles team. And, at 14-2, they now sit atop the Western Conference standings.

But Kerr was not pleased. In fact, he seemed downright disgusted with the performance against the Lakers.

“It was one of the worst basketball games I’ve seen in my life,” Kerr said, per Baxter Holmes of ESPN. “We were awful, and they were awful, the people who bought tickets should get their money back honestly. I’m not trying to make a joke. It was a horrible basketball game.”

Well, damn. So, what made the game so sloppy, coach?

“I don’t know, everyone had too much turkey last night,” Kerr said. “Neither team practiced. They were without half their team…at least they had an excuse. We were pretty bad but we got the win and will move on. Hopefully we’ll play better tomorrow.”

The Lakers played without D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Nick Young, so Kerr is right: there’s some explanation for Los Angeles’ struggles.

Though it might seem a little unnecessary. (The Warriors are cruising and got a big win, why blast the team?) Kerr knows his team and knows when they need a kick. Don’t be surprised if they beat Minnesota by 30 tonight.
