With sports put on hold across the world during the coronavirus pandemic, Joe Buck has received an offer to commentate something else entirely. Just last month, Buck said he would be willing to commentate very mundane videos in exchange for a small donation to a charity. It didn't take long before people started to send him pornographic videos for him to commentate over, and now porn site IMLive has offered Buck $1 million to commentate some live cam shows.

"With COVID-19 having forced nearly all sports leagues to postpone live games indefinitely, I can imagine it must be tough for some sports commentators like yourself right now," IMLive said in an email. "With you out of work for an indefinite period right now, I wanted to reach out and formally extend you an offer to continue to commentate…but over porn instead of sports. By its very nature pornography – especially adult camming – is a visual medium. It’s what’s on the screen that gets people off. But this obviously presents inherent problems for the blind and visually impaired who have nothing to turn to when they want to take a load off. As it stands, there are an estimated 22.5 million Americans who report experiencing vision loss."

A porn site says it will pay Joe Buck $1 million to announce its cam shows live. The site says it is also accepting applications from other national and local sports commentators.

The offer is asking for Buck to commentate 25 live cam shows per week through to the end of May. "I implore you to seriously consider our initial offer," the email IMLive sent out read.

Buck eventually caught wind of it all and responded by saying that the site might just end up "handing some of my money back to me." He then went on to decline the offer. "So I’ll hold out for a better offer and try to hold on to my day job. But I have to say I’m flattered.," Buck tweeted.

Depending on the site they could just be handing some of my money back to me. So I’ll hold out for a better offer and try to hold on to my day job. But I have to say I’m flattered. https://t.co/wBgkwnHyrA

In an interview with KMOX radio in St. Louis, Buck said that he had received a few explicit submissions for him to commentate. "Yeah, I’ve had a couple of submissions from let’s say, a man and a woman, that just didn’t seem appropriate to put my voice to in this stage of my life," he explained, indicating that he's almost certainly not going to accept the offer. "Maybe later in life, but not now. I look at these videos very carefully and pick the ones that seem the most wholesome to put my voice to."
