Well, the saying is “if you look good, you play good.” That must work both ways because Saudi Arabia might be the worst team in the tournament as it got demolished by an average Russia team 5-0 in the World Cup opener on Thursday. These all-green kits are awful.

Sometimes simple works. This is not one of those times. There are too many red uniforms in the tournament to be this basic.

I’m pretty sure most people haven’t heard of Uhlsport before and for good reason, these kits are trash. No touch of creativity and the patten down the side of the shirt is a bit forced.

Adidas didn’t look out for its lower-tier teams. They pretty much just sent Iran the generic template. Iran has to wear these and can’t even show off the cleats they were sent after Nike recently banned them from wearing its footwear.

Yea, it’s a no from me, dog. That specific shade of green mixed with red is an eye sore in addition to a basic Adidas design.

Are you seeing a trend yet? Too many red jerseys that lack creativity.

These kits are almost identical to Serbia’s. Whack.

Robert Lewandowski deserves better.

Kudos to Denmark for having something on the kits that distinguishes them from other red ones but the pattern still isn’t appealing.

These kits are not horrible, we’ve just seen the concept before.

Swedish kits or off-brand Brazil kits? The concept needs some tweaking to create its own identity.

These uniforms aren’t that much different from Egypt but the decision to keep the shirt all red with no black trim on the collar from Nike makes them look a bit better.

Not a fan of the all-yellow, human highlight look here but the shoulder design is solid.

The light splash of blue on the collar fits nicely with all white kits. It’s a minor detail but the font of the numbers adds a nice touch as well.

It’s Iceland’s first trip to the World Cup and the team is going in style. You can never go wrong with red, white, and blue. These are fresh kits.

Green is a hard color to work with for kits but these are definitely appealing to the eye. One of the Adidas’ better kits in the tournament.

These kits deserve plenty of praise. The dark-blue Japanese kits actually pay homage to traditional samurai gear and that’s just awesome.

Who said sashes were only for prom night and beauty pageants? Peru is in the World Cup for the first time since 1982 and it will proudly sport these beauties in Group C. Please give a round of applause to Umbro for making some heat for the Peruvians.

The host country is one of a few who are donning retro uniforms made by Adidas. This one pays tribute to the 1988 Soviet Union squad that captured gold in the Olympics. The traditional theme gives the kits a little kick.

These kits pay tribute to the 1990 Colombia team. They have a lot going on with the vibrant colors and design but it works.

Argyle is usually a no-no on sports uniforms. North Carolina basketball made it work and so did this year’s Belgium kits, which pay tribute to its 1984 squad.

The defending World Cup champs are honoring their 1990 team, which also brought home the World Cup, with a more modern version. They might be the cleanest white kits in the tournament.

France rarely disappoints when it comes to World Cup kits. The mix of blues is on point and the design of the sleeves puts the cherry on top.

You know Nike wasn’t going to let one of its biggest stars in Cristiano Ronaldo down. The gold on all-red look is fantastic.

Croatia is one of the few countries with kits that resemble their flag’s pattern in addition to color. The checkerboard pattern is an excellent touch and deserves your respect.

Spain’s kits scream throwback when you first glance at them. The kits are honoring Spain’s 1984 team but they’re definitely an upgrade from the old school version.

You don’t mess with these classics. The light blue vertical lines on the white shirt remind us of Yankees pinstripes. Argentina has rocked this style since the early 1900s. Do. Not. Change. A. Thing.

We repeat: You don’t mess with the classics.

There’s really no debate with this one. Nike blessed Nigeria with the best kits of the tournament and one of the best kits of all time. The kits sold out worldwide in 15 minutes. Nigeria isn’t one of the more popular teams in the tournament so that should tell you enough. In the category of swag, Nigeria is the World Cup champions.
