This week, the Lakers' top brass held a highly publicized workout for a player who's not expected to be drafted, which would've otherwise gone completely unnoticed if that player wasn't LiAngelo Ball.
Unfortunately (at least, if you're LaVar Ball) that workout made very little impact on those in attendance, because the New York Times' Marc Stein is reporting that the team has little to no interest in signing him. In fact, the Lakers won't even stash Ball on their G-League squad. For those who've read about LiAngelo's NBA projections this should come as no surprise.
"I feel like it went good," an optimistic Ball said after the workout. "It's always fun being in here doing things I want to get better at. It was a good workout." Ball is also expected to workout for the Warriors within the next few weeks:
If the 19-year-old former UCLA Bruin was unable to generate enough interest from the rebuilding Lakers, it's unlikely a team getting ready to play for its third championship in four years will find any room for him either.
