In an absolutely frightening scene at Yankees Stadium tonight, New York Yankees pitcher Bryan Mitchell was hit the face with a line drive off the bat of the Twins' Eduardo Nunez.
As Mitchell was getting looked at by team trainer Steve Donahue, you can see the blood pouring from his face.
With a towel covering his bloodied face, the 24-year-old pitcher made his way off the field with the help of Donahue. No word yet on the extent of Mitchell's injuries. He was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital for what is being called a "full evaluation."
UPDATE: Mitchell sustained a small nasal fracture.
