Last year, during a scrimmage for Team USA, Paul George suffered a gruesome injury that you've either seen a hundred times or have avoided seeing because it's not fun to watch (thus the reason there's no link). Anybody who was brave/depraved enough to see George's right leg give out from under him (probably) assumed that the Pacers star would be gone for the entire 2014-15 season.

Since that fateful August day, we've had hint after optimistic hint of a potential George comeback, before the end of the current campaign. Today, George took another step in that direction, as he had his first full practice with the team. This is news that appears to have exceeded even George's wildest of expectations, as the All-Star had a self-imposed goal to return by March 1 (that's three whole days, people!)

Now that doesn't necessarily mean George won't experience any setbacks on his way to his next goal (NBA games by the middle of March). But it's still a ray of hope to Pacers fans who've had to watch their on-the-rise franchise suffer a setback season, on top of living in Indiana.

In a season where basketball fans have seen many great players go down, this could be the rare opposite.

Keep your fingers crossed.
