Mark Jackson has done a great job coaching the Golden State Warriors over the course of the last three seasons. After starting off by assembling a 23-43 record during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season, Jackson turned things around immediately by going 47-35 last season and leading the Warriors to the Western Conference semifinals in the playoffs. And this year, he built on that success by helping Golden State go 51-31 during the regular season. And while the Warriors did lose to the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs this year, it's clear that the Warriors are building towards becoming a true title contender out West.

It appears as though they're going to be building without Jackson, though. Because according to a Yahoo! Sports report that was just released, Jackson was fired by the Warriors earlier today. Jackson's firing isn't totally unexpected as there have been rumblings about him losing his job for a few weeks now. But it'll be interesting to hear why the Warriors ultimately decided to part ways with Jackson despite the team's recent success.

Stay tuned for more details.
