Did you pick Iowa State to advance far in the 2014 NCAA Tournament? Well, we've got some really bad news for you.

Last night, the Cyclones were able to beat North Carolina Central handily by a score of 93-75. But in the second half of the game, Iowa State forward Georges Niang—the team's third-leading scorer—suffered a fracture in his right foot. And as a result, he won't be able to play in the remainder of the NCAA Tournament, regardless of how far Iowa State advances without him.

"Adversity hit us tonight," Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg said, "and hit us hard. We'll see what we're made of."

Even without Niang, Iowa State still has plenty of offensive weapons. But he was one of the team's best three-point shooters and presented matchup problems for opposing teams. So Iowa State is going to have trouble advancing far without him. And if you selected them to go to, say, the Final Four, you might be in trouble, too.
