Rafael Nadal may have come into tonight's 2013 U.S. Open men's final as the lower seed at No. 2, but he looked better than No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic throughout the night. In their 37th meeting against one another, Nadal defeated Djokovic in four sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1), winning the 13th grand slam of his career.

While it wasn't always the smoothest performance on Nadal's part (see the GIF below for further proof of that fact), Rafael came through and dug down to earn every point he scored, improving his overall record against Djokovic to Nadal leads 22-15, including 8-3 at Grand Slam tournaments. Over the course of the three-hour, 21-minute match, both guys traded shots that lasted several minutes and undoubtedly left fans at the edge of their seats.
