If you want to work for Vanderbilt football coach James Franklin, your wife better be smokin'. That's what Franklin—who has only coached the Commodores for one season—admitted yesterday during a radio interview with Nashville station 104.5 The Zone.
"I've been saying it for a long time," he revealed, "I will not hire an assistant coach until I've seen his wife. If she looks the part, and she's a D-1 recruit, then you got a chance to get hired. That's part of the deal."
Predictably, Franklin came under fire almost immediately and was forced to issue an apology on Twitter that was, well…just read it.
Nice try, Coach. But, really?!
