After David Beckham's five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy came to a close, plenty of speculation arose about where the international superstar would land next. The most serious consideration took hold in France for Paris Saint-Germain. Reports said the offer from PSG was for 18 months and about $18.7 million. For once, however, an athlete made a decision based on family instead of money. Uprooting his wife and four kids and jumping to France was simply not an option.

"David Beckham is (with) Los Angeles," PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi said at the Qatar Open tennis tournament. "And he's going to stay there."

Now that we know he is staying in the U.S., ESPN is reporting that the Galaxy are tweaking a rolling one-year contract with a base salary of $6.5 million. Fresh off winning the MLS Cup and helping spur the massive recent growth of the league, Beckham and the Galaxy would both benefit largely from the signing.
