Just when it looked like the Ducks had a pretty good shot at returning to the BCS national championship game, those dreams got crushed a week later with a tough loss to USC. The final score doesn't even really reflect how much the Trojans dominated the majority of the game. In the third quarter USC held a 38-14 lead over the Ducks before Oregon began mounting a comeback with three unanswered TDs. The offensive surged proved to be too little though as SC held the Ducks scoreless for the final seven minutes of the game. Heisman candidate LaMichael James didn't have a poor performance but it didn't compare to the breakout game he had the previous week as he only rushed for 78 yards and one TD on Saturday. Kenjon Barner led the team in rushing with 123 yards and two touchdowns. A week ago the Ducks were flying high and had their sites set on a second-consecutive appearance in the BCS national championship game and in a matter of hours all that went to hell.
