The Virgil Abloh takeover continues.

With a slew of new Off-White x Nikes on the way, the latest feather in Abloh's cap is a new role as Louis Vuitton's artistic director of menswear. According to The New York Times, Abloh will move his family to Paris to be closer to the brand, where he'll become Louis Vuitton's first African-American artistic director. The position was previously held by Christian Dior's Kim Jones, another designer who's made a fair bit of noise with Nike collabs in recent years.

“The first thing I am going to do is define new codes. My muse has always been what people actually wear, and I am really excited to make a luxury version of that," Abloh said.

There's no word yet if Abloh's design input at the luxury label will include sneakers or how the position will impact his ongoing Nike collaborations, but fans shouldn't worry about the new role affecting Off-White, which he plans to continue to run. "[Off-White] is for the 17-year-old version of myself, whereas Vuitton is for the 37-year-old I am today," Abloh told the paper.
