A man has been caught stealing thousands of pairs of sneakers to satiate what some can only call a bizarre shoe fetish.
Earlier this week, a 57-year-old man was apprehended in Melbourne, Australia after police were tipped off by residents in the area that their shoes had gone missing from their doorsteps. If you're the type to kick off your sneakers and leave them at the door, it may be time to reconsider that habit.
Through the use of CCTV, police were able to track the man down to his apartment where they unearthed the massive stockpile of stolen shoes, which included more than 1,000 runners, slippers, and loafers.
And while there's clearly some sort of sick fetish at play, he certainly didn't do it for the money judging by all the trash sneakers he picked up.
