It wasn't that long ago that Twitter sneaker roasts were reserved primarily for clunky basketball models like the "Chef" Curry 2 Low and James Harden prototypes, but now it seems that not even Kanye West is safe from the scathing insults.

After debuting last night a Yeezy Boost 700 V2 set to release fall/winter 2018, Kanye couldn't escape the wrath of Twitter users, who had a field day in his mentions. The model is a follow-up to the original Yeezy Boost 700 "Wave Runner," a shoe that is one of West's most popular Adidas designs, but one that was released prior to his latest political outbursts. Comparisons were made to everything from K-Mart kicks to automobiles, but the major takeaway is that the reactions were overwhelmingly negative.

While this isn't the first polarizing Yeezy sneaker (previous Yeezy 500 and 700 styles have garnered similar reactions), there haven't been many that have been met with this much disdain—a possible consequence of West's recent rants.

See what we mean with some of the most biting—and funniest—reactions below.
