Three men were caught on camera in Queens this week attempting to sell a pair of Off-White x Air Jordan 1s the group had been videotaped stealing straight off a teenager's feet just moments prior.
After footage surfaced earlier this week of the brazen daylight attack (above), a new development is shedding light on just how bold—and boneheaded—the robbers actually were.
New York Post has obtained a new clip, which shows the same three men entering Queens consignment store Image and attempting to sell the shoes. While the trio were hoping they'd just finessed a come up, they were met with an unexpected response: the shoes were nothing more than fakes.
The 17-year-old victim reportedly told police the stolen sneakers were worth $2,000—which would've been accurate had the shoes been authentic—but it's possible he wasn't aware of their counterfeit status.
Image confirmed with Sole Collector that the sneakers were in fact fake. A store employee says they didn't make the connection with the robbery until police stopped by the store asking to view their surveillance footage.
