You probably have at least a few rare Air Jordan 1s in your collection, right? Maybe you were lucky enough to score a pair of "Fragment" 1s last year, or perhaps you're still sitting on some Japan exclusives from 2001. Whatever the case may be, your rare Airs have nothing on this pair.
Owned by actor and sneaker collector Kris Arnold, these sample Air Jordan 1s were recently profiled by Sneaker News and NYC-based streetwear brand Mighty Healthy.
Unlike ordinary O.G. 1s, these were actually produced in 1984, a full year ahead of the official release. What's more is that they were apparently created as a wear test sample for Michael Jordan himself, as the sizes are mismatched with a right 13.5 and a left 13 just like Jordan's subsequent player exclusives.
Furthermore, the inside tag refers to them as the "Jordan Pro BB," not the Air Jordan 1, and includes a mention of an Air Force II mold, which is somewhat confusing given the noticeable differences between the two models.
