Mention the Air Jordan V in the same breath as the New York Knicks and diehard sneakerheads will immediately call to mind the Carmelo Anthony and Quentin Richardson PEs from several years ago.
Considering those never released, most Knicks fans have had to show support for their squad wearing other kicks. And Jordan Brand has been pretty supportive in dropping several of its models in New York's team colors including the recently released Spike Lee model, the Jordan Spike Forty, the Air Jordan 1 in 2012, and the "Fontay Montana" Air Jordan IX Retro just to name a few.
If a recent image posted on Instagram proves to be true, then fans of the V will no longer have to look elsewhere to show their Knicks allegiance. Shared by shopweelo, we get our first preview of an Air Jordan V Low Retro that sports the Knickerbockers' colors highlighted by a rich blue upper. Notable V details are also present including a reflective tongue and lacelocks. Considering 2015 is about to be a wrap, the safe assumption is that these will drop at some point in 2016. Stay tuned for further news and details.
