In what is sure to be a landmark moment in NBA history, Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling was given a lifetime ban from the NBA and will be fined $2.5 million. This follows the leaked recordings of a racially charged conversation that Sterling had recently. Commissioner Adam Silver held a press conference today for the decision which sent shockwaves throughout the sporting world.
Multiple players, team executives, and fellow owners have spoken out about the actions of Sterling in recent days and Silver received an outpour of support after announcing the suspension today.

After a tough decision, Silver is still faced with the tough task of forcing Sterling to sell the Clippers. Sterling has already refused to sell the team according to sources. Not to mention, the Clippers have to be restructured with new leadership and a new owner to replace Sterling which will be very tough.
Another layer to this is the basketball still to be played by the Clippers. They enter Game Five of their first round series against the Golden State Warriors tied 2-2 and the game should attract attention. it will be the first home game for the Clipper since Sterling's comments were made public and should have many protests prior to the game.
