A Flyknit Makeover for the Iconic Air Max 1

The original red/white colorway is looking futuristic.

Of course the Flyknit version of the Nike Air Max 1 includes a nod to the white/red colorway, which has been the baseline look for this model pretty much since its debut.

The design uses different colored Flyknit sections to recreate the original's lines in some places, and goes over the top of the Flyknit with red taping to achieve the same elsewhere.

As has been the case with other Flyknit takes on retro models, these will be a good deal lighter than the originals (The Flyknit Air Force 1 shaved off 50 percent of its weight with the tech update).

Watch for retailers like SVD to launch the Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit toward the end of July.
