The first time we heard from Blake Bevin, she created a bulky motorized power lacing shoe just as a proof of concept. After her original Youtube video racked up more than a milllion hits, Blake returned with an updated version of her power lace concept, this time stripping away the bulky machinery we saw the first time around and seeking possible funding for a wide release. It appears that Blake is truly serious about getting this project off the ground, as the inventor recently appeared on Good Morning America showcasing her new and improved power lace concept.
Watch the clip below to hear Blake discuss the origins of her power lace project, as well as what inspires her to continue working toward a wide release. In our last post about Blake's power lace project, we mentioned that she was seeking public help for funding. Her goal was to reach a pledge of $25,000 on October 11th. It is now October 7th, and she has nearly $16,000 pledged. Too much to give up at this point.
