Following their highly successful collaborative efforts in 2010, Italian fashion house Missoni has linked back up with Converse for a third collection of Chuck Taylor All-Stars for both men and women. Checking back into their archive of signature space-dyed knits, Missoni made use of vibrant multi colored horizontal stripe patterns exclusive to Converse First String Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette.
Two versions of the Missoni shoe will be released this spring; a women's exclusive version available in a palette of aqua green, purple and black and a unisex look with varying shades of green, yellow, red and blue. Each shoe features an embossed monochromatic Chuck Taylor All Star leather logo patch and high level construction throughout.
"The Spring Summer 2011 converse shoe was based on the idea of using our iconic space-dyed yarns - where every piece of the knit has its own unique identity," said Missoni Creative Director Angela Missoni. "Therefore every pair of shoes is different. We decided to use vibrant and pop colours as this evokes summer freshness, positivity and energy."
Each shoe will be available in limited quantities beginning in March at Missoni boutiques (New York and Beverly Hills), Aloha Rag (New York), Canvas (Malibu) & Jeffrey’s (New York and Atlanta), and also at select retailers globally at a suggested retail price of $200. The unisex shoe will be available in sizes 3–13 and the women’s shoe will be available in women’s sizes 5–11.
