Despite what last night's hot shooting game by Carmelo Anthony suggests, Amar'e Stoudemire is the true savior of the Knicks' franchise. As a Jersey Shore castmember would say, he's "the savior before the savior." It was he who originally took the fat contract challenge to play in New York City when other superstars were taking their talents to South Beach. Had it not been for the hot start that STAT & Co. got off to, this current version of the Knicks would be struggling for a playoff spot. So Knicks fans should continue to rally around Amar'e as they have all season long, and the opportunity to do so in person will take place this weekend at House of Hoops 34th Street.

The new state of the art location will welcome the six-time All-Star this Saturday to celebrate the grand opening. The event will be hosted by Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg and DJ Parler will be on the 1s and 2s. Things kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST, with a free Skills Academy taking place Pal Harlem Armory earlier in the day. Check out more information for both events below.
