The Nike Flyknit Racer has been one of the Swoosh's most popular silhouettes since it hit the market in 2012. Now in a blend of old styling and modern innovation, the runner draws inspiration from the 1988-designed Nike Air Mariah for an entirely new sneaker—the Nike Air Zoom Mariah Flyknit Racer.
In addition to using the original White/Hyper Grape-Orange colorway, the fast shape of the Air Mariah is carried on to the new Flyknit sneakers. "We wanted to maintain the slick profile tooling, with speed racing cues," said designer Jesi Small.
Featuring a slew of modern technology, the new model utilizes an adaptive Flyknit upper, Brio cables, and a responsive Air Zoom cushioning.
The Nike Air Zoom Mariah Flyknit Racer is scheduled to release on June 22 for $150 via Nike SNKRS. Men and women sizing will be available.
