As the release date for the 2015 Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection draws near, we're getting an official look at one of the best sneakers in the pack, the LeBron 13.
These LeBrons were designed by Kian Safholm, a courageous 11-year-old who's battled through multiple heart surgeries. As a huge fan of LeBron James, Safholm decided to pay homage to James' "heart of a lion" mantra by making use of a gradient fade on the upper inspired by the sunrise on the savanna where lions are found.
As we've seen with previous "Doernbecher" sneakers, these LeBron 13s are ripe with details, including mentions of Safholm's family and faith. "Even though I was really sick, my family and I never gave up fighting. With faith, love and a whole lot of perseverance, you can get through anything," he said.
We have a feeling that King James himself would co-sign that. Look out for these and the entire 2015 Doernbecher range to release on November 21.
