Richie and Grainge said “I do” in a lavish ceremony in front of their family and friends at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France on April 22. Richie, who is the youngest daughter of singer-songwriter Lionel Richie, teased fans leading up to the big day with content posted to her newly created TikTok account.Â
Richie had been friends with Grainge for years before they started dating in 2021 after their fathers crossed paths in the music industry. Grainge is a fellow nepotism baby himself. His dad is Lucian Grainge, chairman and CEO of Universal Musical Group. Following in his father’s footsteps, Grainge started his own music label 10K Projects. Prior to her relationship with Grainge, Richie burst into the public eye when she dated Justin Bieber in 2016. She then got into a relationship with Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, for three years before calling it quits in August 2020. Two months after reports surfaced that Richie and Grainge were dating, she hard-launched their relationship on Instagram with a selfie of the two of them. In the photo, the two posed in front of a mirror inside an elevator.Â
The aforementioned photo was the first of many on Richie’s account following the end of her high-profile relationship with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick in August 2020. Richie shared photos of her and Grainge packing on the PDA, going out on dates, and more. She also gave fans a peek at her “dreamy” St. Barts vacation with her beau in April.

Things appeared to be getting serious between Richie and Grainge after the couple went to see the model’s iconic father, Lionel Richie, in concert. Three months prior, a source told OK! that Lionel was over the moon about his daughter’s relationship. They added that Grainge seemed like a better fit than her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick. "Lionel breathed a huge sigh of relief, not only because of their age difference but because he was afraid Scott would break his little girl's heart," the source said. "Elliot is a really nice guy, he's extremely successful and he’s already a millionaire."

Following their announcement, Lionel Richie said he was excited about having Grainge as his future son-in-law. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Lionel described Grainge as a “nervous wreck” asking for permission to marry his youngest daughter.

In what might be the greatest marketing move, Richie joined TikTok the night before her wedding weekend began. Her TikTok handle includes her soon-to-be husband’s last name, @sofiarichiegrainge. Richie’s first few uploads included a “Get Ready With Me” as she picked outfits for her wedding festivities, and a video of herself doing her makeup.Â
Another upload showed Richie getting ready for a day of fun by the pool with her guests who flew to France for the wedding. "It's day one of wedding festivities,” she said. “I just woke up. I don't know how it's possible, but I've already lost my voice. Typical me. It's going to be fine."

In what TikTok is labeling this year’s royal wedding, Richie and Grainge said “I do” on April 22 at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France. The wedding guest list included stars like Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Paris Hilton, sister Nicole Richie, and brother-in-law Joel Madden, to name a few.Â
Richie stunned in a custom Chanel dress, featuring a magical dew drop veil that glistened as she walked for seven-and-a-half minutes down the aisle. She told Vogue that after getting engaged, she had an entirely new vision for her wedding dress.
“It has always been a dream of mine to have Chanel design my wedding dress,” Richie explained. “Within the dress are subtle details, including an embroidered heart to represent the love that Elliot and I share, as well as a blue embroidered S&E on the inside of the dress above my heart.”Â
Grainge surprised Richie with an appearance by Stephen Sanchez, who sang her favorite song “Until I Found You” as she walked down the aisle alongside her father Lionel. “I’ve been dreaming of meeting Stephen Sanchez and had asked my fiancé several times if we could go to one of his gigs,” Richie said. “When our planners, Banana Split, asked me what song I wanted to walk down the aisle to, it was a no-brainer.”
She continued, “It was so surreal, and it was such a meaningful [wedding gift from Elliot]. And not only that, but we got to party with him all night.”
Speaking of the party, Richie, Grainge, and the guests partied until 3 a.m. following the ceremony. The newlyweds' first dance included them being serenaded by Lionel, who sang his song “Stuck on You.” Other musical performances included Good Charlotte, who broke their performance hiatus for the special occasion.Â
“Elliot was such a big Good Charlotte fan when he was a kid, and Joel and Elliot have become like brothers,” Richie said. “Anyway, they haven’t performed in, like, five years, and they brought their band out from Nashville and LA, and it was one of the most fun nights of my life. They are true rock stars. Between my dad and Good Charlotte, it was unbelievable. And most importantly, it really felt like family, which is exactly how we wanted the wedding to feel.”

They also sang along to the song that Richie walked down the aisle to: “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez. Richie and Grainge ended the night enjoying a movie on the beach before making their way back to their room. “Luckiest girl in the world,” she captioned the sweet video.
