The prices for Tinder Plus, the premium version of the dating app, have been revealed, and if you’re in your late 20s or older it’s going to cost you almost four times as much to find love.

In the UK, if you’re between 18 and 27 it will only cost £3.99 per month, but that jumps to £14.99 if you’re 28 or over. In the US the cut-off point is 30 years old, and the prices aren’t as dramatically different—$9.99 (£6.50) and $19.99 (£13).

Tinder say the decision is based on “extensive” research. "Lots of products offer differentiated price tiers by age, like Spotify does for students, for example. Tinder is no different; during our testing we've learned, not surprisingly, that younger users are just as excited about Tinder Plus, but are more budget constrained and need a lower price to pull the trigger." So it’s not just to make money out of old losers, and keep them away from the P.Y.T.’s.

Tinder Plus will include a Rewind feature so you unswipe if you change your mind about someone, and a Passport mode that lets you set up dates in other cities before you go on holiday.
