Life after Parks and Recreation seems downright blissful. Amy Poehler is getting the Pixar stamp of brilliance via Inside Out. Aziz Ansari is beating the post-hit slump by putting out a book and landing a series with Netflix. And Adam Scott? Well, he's about to deliver what hype is whispering amongst itself as the best sex comedy of the year — The Overnight.
Costarring Orange is the New Black's Taylor Schilling and the consistently great Jason Schwartzman, the film follows a new-to-Los-Angeles married couple (Scott and Schilling) as they embark on what starts as a harmless though slightly dreaded dinner party with their insistent neighbors (Schwartzman and Judith Godrèche) but ends up an evening of exponentially adventurous sexual experiences.
According to Deadline, the comedy — written and directed by Patrick Brice — was the subject of a notable bidding war at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Judging by the promising tone of the trailer, we can certainly understand the urge to throw money at The Overnight.
