Before Hobbs & Shaw cruises into theaters to bag some Oscars, the Fast & Furious team has unleashed a final trailer.
The movie, starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, marks the first franchise-expanding spinoff in the billion-dollars-strong Fast & Furious series. Idris Elba, meanwhile, is in full villain mode. Vanessa Kirby and Helen Mirren are also among the assembled talent, all under the guidance of director David Leitch from a script by Chris Morgan and Drew Pearce.

In an April feature on the presumed moneymaker with Entertainment Weekly, Statham detailed how two distinctly different but similarly large egos are crucial to the film's appeal.
"These characters are bigger and larger than life, so to try to cork up their egos to work together is not an easy task," he said, likening the two characters' team-up to the merging of oil and water. Elba's character Brixton, meanwhile, also adds another inspiration behind their pairing.
The Fate of the Furious, the most recent entry in the main franchise, ultimately surpassed more than a billion bucks in global box office receipts against an estimated production budget of $250 million. The ninth entry will see the return of director Justin Lin and is due in May of next year.
Until then, commit to memory that Hobbs & Shaw hits a cineplex near you Aug. 2.
