Gangster Squad may be a total flop, but it's already poised to do well in the box office this weekend. According to early reports, the film earned $650,000 last night in midnight showings, and is predicted to earn about $20 million by Sunday's end - numbers that would put it at the top spot in the box office this weekend.

This isn't totally guaranteed though, as Oscar-contender Zero Dark Thirty also expands its run to nationwide today. With all the buzz that film has been garnering, it's also projected to earn something in the $20 million range by the weekend's end, so it could very well end up going head to head with Gangster Squad. Then again, as Deadline points out, Zero Dark Thirty's long run-time coupled with the fact that it's cast isn't nearly as star-studded as its competition could have it coming in at #2 behind Gangster Squad, which boasts a cast including Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, and Emma Stone.

What do you plan on seeing this weekend?
