As President Obama continues his tour of Colorado and Texas, it seems like zany things can't stop happening to the Commander in Chief. First he had to turn down weed from a well-meaning Denver man and last week he was introduced to a fan wearing a horse head.

But the president's interactions with us commoners haven't all been so silly and surreal. Case in point, Obama's stop at Franklin Barbecue in Austin last Thursday. As the president approached the register, cashier Daniel Rugg Webb apparently shouted "Equal rights for gay people!" Unflustered, Obama asked Webb if he was gay. "Only when I have sex," Webb—a part-time stand-up comedian—responded.

Obama, laughing at Webb's joke, then went in for his trademark fist bump. Who knew that BBQ could be as heartwarming as it is artery clogging?
