James Van Der Beek's triumphant return to TV, Don't Trust the B— in Apt 23, was unfortunately canceled, but the former Dawson's Creek star already got a new show a few weeks ago. Now CBS has added Kevin Connolly to Friends With Better Lives. He'll play Bobby Lutz, the Beek's best friend and fellow gynecologist.
The show is about "30-something friends who each think the other has it better." Brooklyn Decker has already signed on to play a former model; Van Der Beek's character is a sarcastic doctor whose wife cheated on him with her therapist.
You know Connolly from playing E on Entourage. He was also Ryan Gosling's best friend in The Notebook, but then he dies in World War II, in case you were wondering.
