Because 140 characters just isn't enough.

Twitter is both the best place to uncover new and hidden talent, as well as the perfect place to go to complain about people who ought to be working at the airport and not for a major cable network. I can spend all day talking about the latter, but in this list, I break down 15 of the funniest Twitter personalities who belong on TV. You'll notice that most of the selections check the minority box on the census. It's not shade, though, white men, I promise. If it helps, I'm not a TV exec, I'm just playing one on Complex.com. Plus, you'll be more than fine as long as you don't stop believing, tan too hard, or grow a vagina in Hollywood.

Lowkey

Show: Music VJ
Twitter Username: @LowKeyUHTN

Remember when they had VJs on the music networks that actually played music? Stop laughing at me, punk ass 1990s babies! That used to be a thing, I swear. The popular blogger, event host, and Twitter personality would be perfect to fill the void of the 2010s equivalent--whatever that is exactly. Didn't Puff Puff Diddy just launch a music network? Put him on there, teach these children who know nothing about VJs. You're welcome, Diddy Puff.

Fresh

Show: Travel and food show
Twitter Username: @freshalina

Fresh is by far one of the funniest people alive on and offline. She may be too modest to admit it, but she's crafted a style of blogging that has since been duplicated by many--only it's never as hilarious as the real thing. Fresh has no interest in being on TV so she'll likely stab me on sight for saying this, but I still think she ought to be doing the trap's answer to Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and taking us on big hood tour: catfish and grits, ass cheeks and bounce music, trap rappers and country folk. What? That's culture, too, bougie people.

Kid Fury

Show: Late nigh talk show
Twitter Username: @KidFury

If Fresh from Crunk + Disorderly had gay twins, one of them would be Kid Fury. And if humanity truly had any heart, it'd answer the gay accessories sashaying up and down the Bravo network with someone who is funny, clever, and can actually formulate his own opinion without the aid of a loud, sassy, black woman. Kid Fury would be great for hosting, but that said, if you listen to his hilarious podcast, "The Read," you know he'd probably be great for something akin to the Howard Stern episodes that used to air back in the day on E!

Babe Walker

Show: TV host/animation
Twitter Username: @whitegrlproblem

Okay, so technically Babe Walker is three people--two guys and a girl--and after selling 100,000 books is on its way to become a feature film. Okay, whatever, but in my mind, Babe Walker can be a cartoon and become white people's answer to Cita. If you don't know about Cita, she used to be a neck rolling, teeth sucking, black cartoon who used to introduce videos on BET. She was genius--and it's time for a white homegirl.

Crissle

Show: Cable comedy
Twitter Username: @Crissles

As the other half of the popular podcast, "The Read," you know she belongs on late night. But, while she has said she'd never do reality television, if they ever do a melanin-enhanced version of The L-Word, someone bribe her into doing it. Wanda Sykes is a different demographic and Queen Latifah is still trying it. Give that key 18-34 demo a relatable and honest lesbian to savor.

Kingsley

Show: TV personality
Twitter Username: @kingsleyyy

The 20-something has over 900,000 followers on Twitter and has videos that have netted upwards of a million hits for his pop culture commentary. The biggest question with him isn't whether or not he should be on TV, but why hasn't he yet.

He Is Not Allowed

Show: Sitcom
Twitter Username: @HeIsNotAllowed

A needy, psychotic woman who obsesses over her man and ruins the relationship in the process might scream stereotypical to many, but I watched Carrie Bradshaw and survived. You can watch this and be straight after, too.

Bassey Ikpi

Show: Talk show/sitcom
Twitter Username: @basseyworldlive

If you took Iyanla Vanzant, rinsed out the sage and gave her more material than just stuff her grandmother told her during a seance, you'd have mental health advocate Bassey Ikpi, glorious mix of wit and intellect. Let her help other people's lives with more than just "Yahweh, Zimbabwe, let the circle of life send you soaring from the darkness." After that, feature her doing something genius like the underappreciated HBO series The Comeback.

Julie Klausner

Show: Comedy show/ TV host
Twitter Username: @julieklausner

Although the popular podcaster and comedy writer has had her hand in TV by way of the background, I just want someone to put a camera in front of her and have her make me laugh. So can someone just do that for me? For us? Please?

Jamilah Lemieux

Show: News and culture talk show
Twitter Username@JamilahLemieux

The land of political punditry is often an empty vessel full of people who clearly had parents that were owed major favors. However, there's been an upswing thanks to select cable networks--hint, hint, the ones with splotches of color and women--so it'd be a good idea to keep that going with the millennials who can eloquently speak to why racism is bad, sexism is trite, and how Wu-Tang is forever.

Jenny Whoa

Show: Late night talk show
Twitter Username: @JennyWhoa

If I've had to suffer years of Lisa Lampanelli's obnoxious "black jokes" that are so funny it knocks my white hood off every single time, the world can handle Jenny Whoa's take on race and Miguel's processed hair. In this instance, at least you'd be laughing.

Dragonfly Jonz

Show: TV personality
Twitter Username: @DragonflyJonez

There are people who are funny online, then there are those who think being a mean spirited bastard makes you Bernie Mac's spirit animal. Meet someone actually funny and then put him on TV ... like MTV2. Just bypass at least one of the Martin repeats. What? I said just one. It'll be okay, some other network is probably airing that episode later that day.

Alex Newell

Show: Cable comedy
Twitter Username: @alneeZy

A young black comic that doesn't make me want to instantly scream, "Damn, I miss Chris Rock. Hell, Tony Rock. Nah, not Tony. He cool, but you know ... Chris Rock." This is my long winded way of paying homage to Alex's humor.

Chrissy Teigen

Show: Reality show
Twitter Username: @chrissyteigen

Okay, technically she's been on TV before, but not in the way I want or is probably best. Hosting is great, eating food is cool, but if you can be that funny and draw the ire of so many people just being yourself, why not have a reality show? And when you combine that with an obvious love of black men, she's like a Kardashian--only she knows how to read.

Michael Arceneaux

Show: Reality talk show a la The Soup
Twitter Username: @youngsinick

I'm about to sound like a self-serving douche, but in my defense, after living in L.A. I now realize that's a part of the road to success. Besides, f**k you, I'm funny as hell. I don't believe in being the black version of anyone, but if Donahue had a baby with Andy Cohen and taught him black lingo, you'd have me. So come on out now, casting directors. My inbox is cleared.
