Wait, eww, excuse me? In today's very strange life-imitates-art news, the head of directorF.W. Murnau has apparently been taken off of his embalmed body and stolen from a cemetery in Stahnsdorf, Germany. The filmmaker was 42 years old when he died from a 1931 car crash in Santa Barbara, Calif. (His body was brought back to his homeland for burial). Murnau was a classic horror film director, most notable for the 1922 OG vampire film Nosferatu

According to Variety, German newspapers have been reporting that his metal coffin was opened and, oh fun, now the head is missing. One outlet, Der Spiegel, has said there was wax residue near the grave. Err, wax... As in CANDLES? IS THERE SOME WITCHY OCCULT SHIT GOING ON HERE? Terrifying. But like actually... What do you people want with the head of a guy who's been dead for 84 years...? That's fucking gross. If I see an eBay auction for this, I'm gonna barf.
