Three Killed in Shooting at Maryland Mall (Updated)

Authorities still do not have a motive for the shooting.

Gunfire erupted on the second floor of the Columbia Mall in Howard County, Md. this morning, leaving three people dead. 

According to the Baltimore SunHoward County Police Chief William J. McMahon said that the shooting took place around 11:15 a.m. near the Zumiez store. The Sun added that Howard County Hospital is treating four people, including a victim who was shot in the foot. Three other people were treated for panic-related injuries.

A gun and ammunition were recovered near one of the victims, who authorities believe was the shooter. "We are confident it was a single shooter," McMahon said. McMahon added that authorities were working "as quickly as possible" to identify the victims. 

Though McMahon said no motive for the shooting has been identified, a source told NBC Washington that the conflict originated as a domestic dispute.

Authorities have declared the area secure.

UPDATE: The shooter has been identified as 19-year-old College Park, Md. native Darion Marcus Aguilar. NBC Washington reports that Aguilar took a cab to the mall, where he shot Zumiez employees Brianna Benlolo, 21, and Tyler Johnson, 25. According to the Washington PostHoward County Police Chief William J. McMahon said that a connection between Aguilar and his two victims has not been established yet.
