A bank robbery in California ended yesterday with three people—including two robbers and a hostage—dead.

According to the Record, Stockton, Calif.'s local newspaper, the suspects—who were reportedly armed with at least one AK-47—stole a Bank of the West employee's vehicle, then took another employee and an innocent bystander hostage. They proceeded to lead over 50 police vehicles on a chase where speeds exceeded 100 miles per hour.

The high-speed chase culminated in a shooutout between the robbers and police, and the one hostage, Misty Holt-Singh, was killed after the suspects used her as a human shield. The Record adds that the other two hostages jumped from vehicle, but are expected to survive.
