"Justice for All" March Draws Thousands in Washington, D.C.

Crowds gathered to protest the killings of unarmed African-Americans at the hands of police.

Yesterday, thousands of protesters participated in the Rev. Al Sharpton's "Justice for All" march in Washington, D.C. The event was organized to bring attention to the deaths of unarmed blacks at the hands of police.

The march, which was put together by Sharpton's National Action Network, began at Freedom Plaza around noon. Protesters hoisted signs and chanted "No justice, no peace!" and "Black lives matter!" while traveling to the U.S. Capitol. Upon arrival, family members of Michael BrownEric GarnerAmadou Diallo, Tamir Rice, and John Crawford lll took the stage to express gratitude for the support.

Eric Garner's mother, Gwen Carr, called the march a "history making moment," adding that "[w]e need to stand like this at all times." Michael Brown's mother, Leslie McSpadden, thanked demonstrators for "having [her] back."
