By 2014, the Federal Bureau of Investigation will go nationwide with a $1 billion project that is meant to fight crime. It is being called the Next Generation Identification (NGI) and it's sole purpose is to use facial recognition technology that will work towards supposedly creating a safer nation. The system created by Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions offers “state-of-the-art biometric identification services,” in addition to providing a “flexible framework of core capabilities that will serve as a platform for multimodal functionality.”
