Disturbing video caught a man hitting a gay couple over their heads with a chair at a New York city BBQ restaurant. Sarah Meyers, a friend of the couple, told DNAinfo the attacker had been using gay slurs against them all night. In the video we see one of the victims holding back his partner from fighting the man. That's when the attacker comes from behind and strikes both with a wooden chair. One of them is visibly stunned, slumping into his seat.
"We want this to go viral," Meyers said. "We need to find him. My friend could have been killed."
The attacker fled the scene and still hasn't been arrested. NYPD Sgt. Lee Jones told Mashable an investigation is underway but that there's "no indication" of a hate crime inside the complaint report. He also said the victims refused medical service and declined to consult with detectives.
