Some new developer footage has been released highlighting the new weapon crafting systems in Dead Space 3. They've taken your ability to upgrade your existing weapons and completely overhauled it. You're now able to build completely unique fighting gear from resources you've found in the environment.
Sounds like a natural and welcome progression for the game. I love the idea if fusing a plasma engine to a battle rifle to make my bullets melt through enemies and walls.
