As we all know, Tumblr has already had a pretty big year. Highlighted by their $1.1 billion sale to Yahoo! in May, the passing of the 100 million blog threshold in March, and David Karp's appearance in our online cover story last week, the popular blogging platform has wasted no time in further establishing themselves this year, and appears poised to continue riding this wave of momentum in the last half of the year. With the site hosting more users than ever, though, it can sometimes be difficult to navigate this endless archipelago of GIFs, memes, and food porn. Friends since their days as art students at the University of Exeter, English artist Stanley Donwood and Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke have collaborated a number of times over, most notably to create the diverse and eye-catching collection of Radiohead album covers. So it sort've stands to reason that at some point they'd come together to make a Tumblr. Back in March, FilmAid International launched their latest project Dadaab Stories, an interactive, multimedia, documentary website focused on collecting stories from the largest refugee camp in the world. With nearly all of the camp's 500,000 refugees coming from Somalia, Dadaab Stories has put together a comprehensive catalog of poetry, music, photography, journalism, and videos to give viewers a first-hand perspective on life in a war-torn country, and what human beings do to cope with that reality.
