Twin Peaks fans became fervid when news broke of a short series revival for Showtime, complete with original show runners, David Lynch and Mark Frost. Peaks’ star, Kyle MacLachlan—who will always be Trey “Alrighty” MacDougal—is now officially on board, too, reprising his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

MacLachlan made the announcement today at the Television Critics Association press tour. Before that he had teased a possible return when he tweeted this: “Better fire up that percolator and find my black suit :-) #Twinpeaks.” after the show’s revival news. Twin Peaks will premiere in 2016, after its 25th anniversary, with nine new episodes.
